Last Day of School - Field Day

He loved every moment of Preschool and can't wait to start Kindergarten in the Fall.  

He has learned so much this year.  We can't belived how he has grown and matured.

Can you believe all the love they have for each other?  It's easy to forget the friendship and love they share.  In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the nit picking, pestering, and tattle tailing can be overwhelming, and we can quickly forget how blessed we are with such good boys.  

After the mandatory pictures, we were headed to school for field day.  It wasn't the typical day in May - today it was cold and rainy. 

I was able to volunteer for field day.  I helped out at the water balloon toss station.  It was so cool outside, and the water from the balloons was even colder.  None of the kids minded one bit.

Tate came along as my little helper.  By the end of the day, he was directing all the big kids on the rules of the water balloon toss.  Tate is definitely NOT shy.

Milk....Does a Body Good

Tate's Preschool field trip was to the Obert Legacy Dairy Farm.  I was lucky enough to be able to join Tate and his classmates on the trip.  Grandma Wolsing was even in town and joined us too!

Quick picture before the tour gets started.  They broke us into groups for us to tour the farm.

Up first, we had the chance to visit with the baby calves.  They were very friendly and wanted to suck on just about anything.    

Yup, it licked Tate!  I love his expression.  He was having such a good time. 

Tate really enjoyed spending time with the calves.  He fit right in wearing his boots and John Deere sweatshirt.  

The calves were very playful.  It was a cool day and they were really feeling their oats!  After the calves, we headed to the milking parlor.  Their system is semi-automatic.  Everyone on the tour had the chance to feel inside of the milker.  It is a very gentle pressure, similar to a heart beat.  I was expecting much more pressure than what I experienced.

The automatic feeder was spreading feed specific for this group of Momma cows.  It's all based on their age and milk production. 

Tate learned all about how the milk comes from the farm and ends up on our table.  The most memorable thing he learned was that they have 4 stomachs and have to "throw up" and chew their food again.  

We had a fun morning and enjoyed some milk and cookies before leaving.

Tate's Preschool Celebration

The theme of the Preschool Celebration was "There's nothing I can't Do".

These photos were from career day.  Each student dressed up as what they wanted to be when they grow up.

Tate picked pharmacist.  He sounded out his profession and wrote it this sheet.

He was very proud to dress like a pharmacist just like Mom.  He wore a lab coat, dressed up and even wore a tie.  I made him a name badge with his name - Dr Tate L Bane.

We now have a very excited future Kindergartener on our hands.  Tate will be part of the Class of 2029.  I don't know how I feel about that.  On one hand it seems so far away, but on the other, I know it will be gone in what seems like a blink of an eye. 

Grandma Wolsing wouldn't dream of missing Tate's Preschool Celebration. 

Mamaw and Papaw were also in attendance to watch Tate graduate from Preschool.

We have one proud future Kindergartener.  If he could skip Summer break and just start straight into Kindergarten we would do it in a heart beat.  It was a bitter sweet day for us as parents.  Hard to believe that both of our kids are in school.  Where does the time go?  Proud of Tate and all he has learned at school this year.  He as actually just started reading, with Mrs Chelsie's help.  He is so excited that he can now start reading all his sight words. 

Uncle Brad came out to support Tate.  They are always giving each other such a hard time!!  Today was no difference.

We had to get pictures with all of his Preschool Teachers.  This is Ms. Deb.  She run's the morning daycare for the preschool students and then helps teach pre-school along with Mrs Chelsie and Mrs Joan.

Mrs Chelsie gave each student an award based on their personality.  She matched their personality to different types of candy.  Tate won the LifeSaver Award, because he was always willing to Help!  That makes this Mom, super proud.

Tate had to get a picture with his best buddy, Leyton.  They have become best of friends over the last couple of years.  Leyton makes Tate look gigantic in this picture!

Preschool Career Day

Today was career day at Preschool. They were supposed to dress up as the career they wanted to be when they grow up. Tate originally wanted to be a race car driver.  With some convincing he decided to be a pharmacist instead. Mom had all that stuff handy. I had some lab coats in the back of the closet. We dressed him up and added the tie and name badge. He made us call him Dr Tate Bane all morning. 

With Tate's help we put together some prescription treats for his classmates. He even brought in a counting tray and spatula to show everyone how we count tablets in the pharmacy. Ms Chelsea took this picture of Tate doing his demonstration. He looks super proud of himself.

Camo Day - Red Ribbon Week

Day 2 of Red Ribbon Week was camo day. This is literally all the camouflage our family owns. Thanks to the Army surplus store for Devin's pants. 

I'm pretty sure they were trying to act like they blended in with the wall. Devin didn't do too bad of a job, but Tate kept flapping his arms like a duck. Not sure about that one!

The now traditional silly face/pose picture. Hey a Mom uses whatever tactics available to get her children to agree to photos. What they don't understand at their early age is that they will eventually regret all these "silly" pictures. Esp when it comes time for girlfriends and weddings!!
