Wolsing Wood's Haunted Halloween Trail

We invited Chase to join us for Grandma & Grandpa Wolsing's Halloween Party and Haunted Woods.  We all played different parts along the trail to spook the party guests.  Devin, Tate, and Chase all had a great time scaring people.

This was the first scene along the haunted trail.  It was gator camp.  Devin and Tate hid inside firing off fake guns Grandpa had made with lights and sounds.

Up next, the swamp.  Grandpa built a swamp out behind his shop.  They laid out plastic and filled it with water.  They added water hoses to act like snakes.  It was a really cool affect.

Up next, the cemetery.   That guy sitting there moves and talks.  He talks about his dead dog, Spot.

Ready to scare!

Halloween Camping - Diamond Lake

Tate called it a fairly early evening.  When this kid knows when he has reached his limit.  He asked to go into the camper and get ready for bed.  He got his jammies on and climbed into his sleeping bag.

Devin has really become quite the reader.  He loves his boy scout head lamp.  It comes in handy when he wants to read in the evening.

Tucked in and ready for bed in our camper.  They love the bunk beds.

Tate feeding the fish at Diamond Lake.  The fish are unbelievable.  They start swimming on top of each other to get at the food.

Devin with his bag full of fish food.

Check out all the fish.

The kids begged and begged to ride go-carts.  We finally gave in and let them ride.  Devin and Tate were both tall enough to drive the mini carts.  They thought that was pretty exciting.

Devin loved getting to drive.  It definitely makes him feel grown up.

Here comes Tate driving his orange race car.

Look at his face, pure joy!

You could hear them hootin' and hollerin' all the way around the track.  They were having a blast racing around with their cousins.

After all the fun we had in the morning, it was time to get our Halloween costumes on.  We decided to participate in the costume contest.  We all dressed like the family from the Diary of the Wimpy Kid Family.  We looked like we jumped straight off the books pages.

Grandma & Grandpa Wolsing dressed like swamp people.

I'm not sure what he likes more, Trick or Treating for candy, or handing it out to all the other kids.

Look at this line of people handing out candy!

They had so much fun riding the go carts, they begged us to go back.  This time the adults got in on the action.  We had a blast driving around with our kids!

The Second Cousin's enjoyed our camping weekend at Diamond Lake.

After dinner, we took Addy and the boys to the Haunted House.  I love this picture so much.  Check out Devin & Tate's face.  They were scared to death.  Addy, just wasn't real sure, and the adults were all smiles.  The haunted house was a lot of fun.

Up next, Play Dough center. Tate  had me sit down with him and make some play dough cookies. I loved getting to see how Tate spends his day at school.

Camping, Hiking & Trick or Treating

Fall was out in full force with some beautiful colors.  We decided to head up to the museum and nature center.  Then we headed out on a hike around Audubon State Park.

Such a beautiful building and fall setting.

The leader of our hike.  He was mapping us all the way.

Yep, it was already time to take a little rest!  It was definitely a well placed bench.

Cousins enjoying their time out in the woods.

The cousins found the perfect climbing tree.  Also made a great photo opportunity.

The leaves and surroundings were absolutely amazing.  Fallen leaves covered the bridge and trail, and those left in the trees where a perfect golden yellow.

Favorite Picture from the weekend!  We had to pick up the pace of our hike towards the end.  The rain was staring to move in on us.

Family picture before Trick or Treating!

I think our Mario was having a great time out snagging some candy.

Little Luigi was loving every minute!

Greg is an amazing Dad.  Don't know to many Dad's willing to dress up for Halloween and go Trick or Treating in the pouring down rain.  Definitely the most memorable Trick or Treat experience we have ever had.

I just love this picture!
My Mario and Wario making the best out of a pretty crummy situation.
