St James Family Night

St James Family Night displays projects from all grade levels that they have recently been working on. Devin did a poster project with 2 other classmates on the Wright Brothers.

This is Devin in front of his project.
It was nicely done and he has learned so much out them.

Here is one of Devin's art pieces he picked.

This is Tate's artwork on display.

This is Tate writing and illustration.

"I would like to go on vacation in a submarine, because in a submarine you can see ulot of fish. You can xspor in the sea.  You can see dallfins."

Devin's Spring Artwork

This was a writing assignment they worked on for St. Patty's Day.

"If I were a leprechaun, I would hid my pot of gold uder rarotracts. my tric woud be udr a treu"

Happy Little Leprechaun

Then they celebrated Dr Seuss' Birthday.  Here an art project with the Lorax.  Devin's hand are the Lorax' mustache.

They had also read the Dr. Seuss story "Yertle the Turtle". They then had a writing assignment about the story.
Do you think Yertle was a good king? - NO

What did he do to make you think that?

Another Dr. Seuss project - Horton the Elephant.

A rainbow of Rhyming words.

This was a writing project that Devin worked on at home.  He really enjoys writing and then illustrating what he wrote about.

"Sen Say wouw is the Lyter of the Ninjas.  He and the Ninjas each have spinjitsu.  Kai is the master of Fire.  Lloyd has all of the pouwers.  Lord Gramdn is a bad guy.  that is all."

Artwork & Writing

"Clown fish are orange and white. They live in the oshun. They liv in anuneme"

This was a project they worked on at school.  It came home with a nice note from his teacher, Mrs. Holden.  She was very impressed with Devin's writing and creative thoughts.  I am so proud of him.

This is a project that Devin worked on for the Winter Olympics at school.

"If I were in the Winter Olympics I would compete in snenberdeaning."

Devin's Holiday Artwork

Devin's Elf and Application to be an Elf.

Some of the most important questions: Do you like toys?
Do you like milk and cookies?
Do you like Christmas music?

Looks like he answered all the questions correctly-and can now be an official elf.

This is Devin's Christmas Tree word tree. The words on his tree: in, so, big, are,& name.

Christmas Stocking

This was a project from their Polar Express Day. Mrs Holden let them wear their jammies to school and watch the movie. All the other lessons they did for the rest of the day revolved around the Polar Express. This craft was about the first gift of Christmas. Devin's response was Skylanders Swat Force.

Every student in K-3 was asked to decorate a train car for the Christmas train. It was a family activity we all worked on over Thanksgiving break.

This is one of my favorite projects. It is about the meaning of a candy cane. Nice way to remind everyone about the true meaning of Christmas.

It's fun to see Devin's artwork change and grow with him. I love his imagination and creativity.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Devin has been learning all about Thanksgiving at school. He has completed several projects at school showing off all he is learning.
"If I was a pilgrim boy I would have stacked wood"

This is his sight word turkey- you, the, do, see, and, like.

Thanks to Grandma Wolsing he created an awesome turkey in disguise. His turkey was disguised as Iron Man. The reward for his turkey - 1000 pizzas.

What would Thanksgiving be with out learning about the Mayflower.

Devin's symmetry Turkey. This is what they are learning about in Math.

Our very own little pilgrim boy. They enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast at school today. Devin said they had the kind of turkey he doesn't like (I didn't know he liked any), some really hot soup, and pumpkin pie. He did tell us that he loves pumpkin pie and asked us to have some at our Thanksgiving Dinner.

Veteran's Day by a 6 year old

This is what Veteran's Day looks like to a six year old. I love the effort that Devin put into his soldier. The camo fatigues, little American flag, hair cut are all perfect details, but his choice of words sums it up the best. "A soldier is a hero and strong."  Perfectly stated by a 6 year old little boy.

Thanks to all who have served: past, present, and future.
