Turkey Day

My Thanksgiving Day started with a 5K walk around Haubstadt.  It was my own personal Turkey Trot.  It was a great way to start the day.  Once I got back to the house, I was in party hosting mode.  We hosted the Bane Thanksgiving at noon.  We still had a lot to get ready.

First up, was making an Apple Pie!  It turned out beautifully!

Southwestern Thanksgiving Dinner

Our Holiday Season started by giving back to some of our patients at the pharmacy. We served Thanksgiving Dinner to 50 individuals who live in the group homes.

The Genoa Crew that helped put on an amazing Thanksgiving Dinner for the group homes.

Tate offered to say the prayer.  He said the Bless Us O Lord and most everyone joined in.

We also shared things that we were thankful for this year. Devin was thankful that the group home residents could be together sharing and joining "with people of your kind". Not exactly the best way to word things, it did get a laugh from the residents.

Tate joined Harry for dinner!  They had some nice conversation.

This crazy crew of boys were a huge help serving Thanksgiving Dinner. They made sure everyone had drinks, rolls, and dessert. They also helped buss the tables when everyone was done eating.

Great picture of all the cousins.

Great Grandma & Grandpa Bane

Family Picture

The whole Bane Gang.

We figured Thanksgiving would be a great time to snap a few family pictures.  They came together quite nicely.  Glad we were able to get a picture of everyone!

The Happy Thanksgiving Elf

Thomas rode in on his Turkey. He seems to be having a blast celebrating Thanksgiving with us.  Can't wait to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, eat a little turkey (and other yummy favorites), probably watch a little football, but mostly relaxing with family and friends.

He makes quite the Pilgrim.

We all have so much to be thankful for this year.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Devin has been learning all about Thanksgiving at school. He has completed several projects at school showing off all he is learning.
"If I was a pilgrim boy I would have stacked wood"

This is his sight word turkey- you, the, do, see, and, like.

Thanks to Grandma Wolsing he created an awesome turkey in disguise. His turkey was disguised as Iron Man. The reward for his turkey - 1000 pizzas.

What would Thanksgiving be with out learning about the Mayflower.

Devin's symmetry Turkey. This is what they are learning about in Math.

Our very own little pilgrim boy. They enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast at school today. Devin said they had the kind of turkey he doesn't like (I didn't know he liked any), some really hot soup, and pumpkin pie. He did tell us that he loves pumpkin pie and asked us to have some at our Thanksgiving Dinner.
