Tate's Water Fight Birthday Party

Tate's Baby Groot Birthday Cake!

Tate's Awesome mix tape cookies - Guardian of the Galaxy Theme

Miniature cupcakes for Tate's friends.

Water balloons, lots and lots of water balloons.  Guessing these won't last long once the water balloon fight starts.  It was hard to keep the kids and adults out of the water balloons.

We filled up over 500 water balloons!

Devin enjoying the water gun fight.

Cousin Xavier was able to join us for Tate's party.  He had a blast playing with all of the other kids.

The pirate ship was a huge hit during the water gun fight.

Grandpa Wolsing helped the kids re-load their water guns.  Grandpa and Uncle Eric even provided some additional fun by bombing the kids with water balloons.  They were launching water balloons to the pirate ship.

The kids revolted and got Uncle Eric back.  Everyone knows its cool to pee your pants!

The morning weather didn't start out well, but luckily the rain cleared up and provided us the perfect afternoon for a water fight.

Up next, the water balloon fight.  We divided the group into two teams.

All smiles.

Looked what showed up!  The Kona Ice truck.  The perfect ending to Tate's party.

Tate showing off all of his favorite flavors.  He loves that he can mix his own flavors!  he even asked if he could get as many as he wanted.  At summer camp, they are only allowed to get 2 flavors.

Loading up on the flavors.

Lining up for kona ice.

Grandpa Wolsing enjoying his shaved ice.

Grandma Wolsing's shaved ice looks amazing.

I loved how these cupcakes turned out!  Baby Groot cookies in small cupcake pots.

Singing to the birthday boy!

Opening presents - New shirt from Mamaw & Papaw.

Opened up some money, that he can't wait to put in his wallet.

Legos from Uncle Eric & Xavier.  I think Tate likes them.

Love the look on his face!  He was so excited to open up the Rocket Fishing pole.

Let the Practices Begin

Devin and I were able to run a couple of miles while Tate was at soccer practice.  It was a great chance for him to get in shape prior to the start of his cross country season.

It was hot and humid, but we managed to get in almost 2 miles.

Family Water Fight

It was a hot Saturday, which quickly turned into a family water fight.  It started out with water guns, then we moved onto water balloons, and before it was all over we just settled on the hose and buckets of water.

Devin taking aim at Mom, I was lucky and was aimed with a camera, so that kept me dry for a little while.

Tate trying to get the best of Mom.

Look at the beautiful sky!  There is not a single cloud.  Just amazing.

Devin trying to soak Dad!

He has quite the mischievous look.

and so does he!

Soaking wet, but had the best time!  Some of the simplest fun is the best and most memorable.

Bane Family Hits the Road - Huntsville

Loaded in Mamaw & Papaw's van and ready for the adventures ahead of us!

Devin is happy to get the day started.

We started our day at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.  The boys were excited to learn all about space.

One of the many rockets at the Space and Rocket Center.  All of these rockets have been launched in Huntsville.  The most famous where the Saturn Rockets.

Standing underneath a huge rocket and their enormous engines.

This is a simulation of the moon's surface.

Inside one of the helicopters on display.

Tate showing off his muscles and letting us know we needed to check out the helicopter.

This is a good comparison of how tall these rockets stand.  The boys are standing at the base, it's huge.

Exploring all the exhibits at the Space and Rocket center.

Future Astronauts??

Not so sure about these two?

Tate inside the capsule.  Its so hard to image being launched into space in this relatively small vessel.

Devin and Tate both have some serious growing before this could become a real career.

One example of the huge engines on the Saturn V Moon Rocket.

This Saturn V Rocket is one of three in the world.  It is a National Historic Landmark.

Look how little we look.  A family picture in front of the Space Shuttle.

Devin trying on his astronaut suit.

Tate all dressed up like an astronaut.

I also had to try my hand at being an astronaut.

Devin and Greg are very serious, all while playing the simulation game.
Mom was just along for the ride.
