Academic Excellence Awards

Devin was honored with Academic Excellence.  He qualified by obtaining a 94% average in all of his classes for the first 3 semesters of the school year.

Waiting for his name to be called.

Mrs Johnson, the principal at St James, presented Devin with his award.

Devin after the awards program.  He was is very proud of his medal.  He has really worked hard this school year to earn his grades.  We are all very proud of him!

Grandma Wolsing drove over to attend the awards program.  Devin was excited when she showed up.  We were all so proud of Devin's behavior during the awards program.  He sat very still and politely watch all of the other kids receive their awards.

Mamaw & Papaw were also there to support Devin.  We were all so very proud of his hard work.

A family picture to reminder Devin's special night.  We are so very proud of all Devin's hard work throughout the school year.  It hasn't always been easy and they expect a lot out of each student, but he rose to the challenge.

First Reconciliation

Devin and his 2nd grade class at St James had their First Reconciliation this evening. You could see all their excitement in their smiles and expressions. It's reassuring that these children can have so much love for God and their religion. Father Betz, Sister Erma, and Mrs Luth have all been amazing role models to our children.  Father Betz presented each student with their own First Communion Bible and Scapular. Devin is one step closer to completing his First Communion in May. Such an important time in his and our faith journey.

Spelling B.e.e

Devin at the St James Spelling Bee. He was one of 3 students from his class that continued on from their class spelling bee. Devin made it 3 rounds before missing the word "skirt". We ended up being 2nd place in 2nd grade.

Devin with his spelling bee certificate.  He was very proud of himself.  He was very unsure of how we would do at the spelling bee.  He surprised himself with how well he did.  Mom and Dad are proud of him as well!

Great job Devin!
