Easter Celebrations - Egg Hunts, Family, Food, and Kite Flying

Family picture before Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday night.  Had to take advantage of our blooming Bradford Pear tree.

Happy Easter Morning!  The Easter Bunny stopped by our house and filled our baskets full of goodies.

Devin found a new book, water bottle, and resistance band in his basket.  Of course, there was a little candy, but just a little.  Devin was happy to see some chocolate in his basket.  He not only gave up pancakes for Lent, but also candy.

Tate was also excited to find a resistance band in his Easter basket.  Both boys have been excising with me every evening.  They had been wishing for some weights or resistance bands for months.  Tate was also glad to find some candy in his basket.  Tate gave up popcorn & candy for Lent.

Out searching for all of his Easter Eggs.  The Easter bunny left a note stating that Tate's eggs were green and orange.  They each had 20 eggs to find.

Running to find the next egg.  Such excitement!

Devin was hunting for blue and yellow Easter eggs.  His were a little harder to find.  He really had to hunt for his more this year.

Excited to hunting eggs!

Checking out all of his treasures in each egg.

We decided to get a few family pictures.

Before eating lunch, Devin had pulled out our kites.  They had trouble before lunch getting them to fly.  Once we were done with dinner, we headed out to see if we might have better luck.  Without to much effort we were able to get them to fly.  Uncle Eric and Xavier flew kites together.

The wind was gusty at times and would really pull you at times.

Brotherly love!  I think we all enjoyed being outside on such a wonderful Spring Day.

Grandpa Wolsing helping to teach Devin how to fly one of the kites.

We were able to get both kites up and flying at the same time.  We didn't have too many crashes.

Tate's turn to fly the kite with Grandpa.  He was really starting to get the hang of things.  The wind at times, would just about pull him over.

Family Picture

Look closely - When did I get a son old enough to find bunny ears funny.  Devin's face is priceless.  he really thought he was getting away with something, but the camera caught him.

Luckily we got a nice family picture without bunny ears.

We were using my new camera with WiFi.  You can actually control the camera with an app on your phone.  Devin was begging to take some pictures.  I turned my phone over to him and this moment happened.  We hear Devin say- "put your hands in the air, like you just do not care".  Mom and I did just that and caught a pretty funny moment.

End of Lent Celebration!

Devin gave up pancakes and candy for Lent. He had been counting down the days until he could enjoy pancakes again. Greg promised Devin pancakes on Easter morning and he came through in a big way, literally.  Dad made the boys both huge pancakes to celebrate the end of Lent.

Pancakes as big as your head.  Devin and Tate both thought these pancakes were pretty cool. Dad makes some pretty great pancakes. He's such an amazing Dad!

We're Not Getting Pinched

Tate wins the award for the most green worn on St. Patty's Day.  He had asked to wear his green pants and that turned into the whole lot of green he ended up wearing.  He literally wore green from head to toe.  He went so far as to pick out green underwear and socks that had green stripes.  Tate even happened to have a pair of crocks with green on them.

The green machine.

Unfortunately, Devin had to wear his uniform on St Patrick's Day.  All we will say, is that Devin wasn't wearing any visible green.  He managed to pick out some green undies.

I just begged that he not go to school showing off his "green".  Figured that could get a little embarrassing and might just get him in trouble at school.

A few silly faces before heading off to work and school.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Big 10 Championship: Purdue VS Michigan State

We were up extra bright and early today thanks to daylight savings time. We "sprung" ahead over night. We decided yesterday afternoon that we would head to Indy to watch Purdue play in the Big 10 Championship game. We donned all of our Purdue gear and hit the road.

We made it to downtown Indy with plenty of time to spare. We decided we would get lunch downtown.  We took the boys to Buffalo Wild Wings.  It was their first time to BWWs.  Devin wasn't sure at first, but he loved all the TVs.  Before it was all said and done, we was asking when we could eat there again.
Devin ordered a basket of cheese sticks.

Tate ordered the corn dogs.  They just couldn't get over all the TVs and sports that were on.

After lunch, we made our way to the stadium.

We stopped for a quick picture with the "ndy" sign.  I think these boys make pretty great "i"s.

Cheering for Purdue as they warm up before the game.

Dad and Tate "cheesing" before the game.

The boys loved seeing Purdue Pete!

Purdue didn't end up winning the game, however, it was a fun game to watch.  Purdue stayed in the game until the very end.  Regardless of the loss, we all had a great time cheering on Purdue.

Boiler Up!!

Baby Jack

Welcome to the world baby Jack! He was born March 10,2016. He weighed 7lbs 10oz and was 20 inches long. Congratulations Andrea and Nick!
Devin and Tate couldn't wait to meet Jack. We decided that we would go visit the entire Michel family once they got home from the hospital. We brought over some pizza, salad, breadsticks, beer and wine. It really hit the spot.

Devin was the first to hold Jack. He really liked holding him. He talked to him and just loved his tiny little hands.

Now it's Tate's turn. He loved all the silly faces he kept making. Jack slept the entire time we were there visiting.
At first we really thought he looked like Nick, but after seeing some baby pictures of Andrea they have a lot of similar features.

He is just adorable. I definitely got my baby fix. He was content to just sleep the evening away. Might not bode well for his parents overnight. Here's hoping they got some sleep.
