We couldn't be more sure that Fall is well on it's way. Is it the spider webs that recently appeared around the house? The stinky cleats and socks I keep finding around the house? My un-kept house? Camp outs? Spelling Words? Dirty farm boots?
Yes - That's just a few ways we know Fall is looming just around the corner.
Devin decided that he really wanted to join Boy Scouts. Their first event of the Fall was a camp out at Sts Peter & Paul. I picked Devin up from Tate's first soccer game. We headed home and packed what we needed and then headed to the "camp ground". We were in a hurry to get our tent setup before some potential rain came our way. The boys enjoyed various activities - Ice cream S'mores, flashlight hike, glow ring toss, and more. It was a fun evening and we settled into our tent around 11pm.
For those of you who know Haubstadt....We didn't get much sleep. We were sleeping less than 2 blocks from a very busy railroad track, right underneath the church bell that rings hourly, and just down the road from the police/fire department. Yup-great night of sleep!
We were up bright and early! We survived and most importantly, Devin had a blast! After eating some breakfast and going on a scavenger hunt, we had to head for home to get ready for the next scheduled activity.
Off to soccer we go!
You have to love Devin's fashion sense. He picked out his new soccer socks, long before we knew his team color. They are obnoxiously bright yellowish/green. If he ever has an 80s day at school, we are half way there. He seems really serious about soccer...right??
Devin moved up an age group for soccer. It is completely different. It's no longer a free for all. In this league they start playing offensive/defensive positions.
Devin and his team had a great game. They won 2 to 1. They played well as a team, passing the ball, and getting the ball to the open player.
Next weekend - Double header.
