Well we were headed to Cincinnati for my Cousin Lee's Graduation Party. I was looking for activities to keep us busy and ran across a 5K race in downtown Cincinnati call The Candy Race. It sounded like a lot of fun!
Pre-Race photo - It was early our time, but we had the perfect weather!
All set for the race.
Quick selfie!
The best part of this race, was that Grandma & Grandpa Wolsing and Tate were cheering us on all the way. They also were our official picture takers! This was at the 1 mile marker.
Watch out here we come!
Tate and Grandma enjoyed the playground while waiting on us. Tate was driving a river boat. He has a huge imagination and Grandma Wolsing plays right along with him.
This was a bouncy bridge and every time Tate crossed it, he would wipe out. I'm sure it was an accident the first time or two, but after that I'm pretty sure he was hamming it up for Grandma.
Coming down the home stretch, just 1/2 mile to go! The finish line was almost in site! Devin knew it was getting close.
Yeah we found the finish line!
It was a timed race. We were about 3 minutes slower than our last run. Devin struggles with understanding the distance. He does much better when he knows the course and landmarks. Completely a mental thing.
All the finishers received an awesome metal. He was very proud! It is quite an accomplishment! I am so glad that we get to do this together. We are making a ton of memories along the way.
Our next race, will be in Evansville. It is a glow run in downtown. Should be a blast. Devin is excited that he gets to stay up past his bedtime to run a race.
