Our Thanksgiving was Shrektacular!

We decided to take a mini Vacation over our Thanksgiving Break. We decided to head south and spend the weekend in Nashville at the Opryland Hotel. We checked in on Thanksgiving and the fun began right away. We got checked into our room. We had quite the view. A balcony overlooking the Delta Gardens. We had views of the gardens, the river, and huge Christmas tree. Then we were off to the theater to see the Radio City Rockets Christmas Show. We all really enjoyed the show. Devin's favorite act was when the Rockets were dressed up as Santa's Reindeer and my favorite was the toy soldiers.

After the Rocket's Show we headed back to the hotel, got some dinner and Meet & Greets. We took our passports and headed out to find all our favorite characters. Our first stop was to see Puss N Boots. Devin loved him. Next we met Alex from the Madagascar movies. Then we ran into Shrek and Fiona outside Shrek's House. Our last stop for the evening was Gingy inside his Gingerbread house. The following morning we were able to find the Penguins and Po from Kung Fu Panda.

We ate a quick breakfast in our room on Friday morning, then we headed out to see the ICE exhibit. The theme this year was Merry Madagascar! Everything was made out of ice - 2 Million pounds of ice to be exact. Our favorite part - the ice slides!!! We all took a turn, Devin took more than we could count. Brrr it is so cold inside, but well worth it!

We finally found Santa. Devin quickly sat on Santa's lap and asked for a new Tow Mater and the Cars 2 Movie. If you look close, you can see that Tate never made it to Santa's lap. We hasn't so sure about sitting on his lap, but cute picture none the less.
Can you believe it - we found a train! We rode the train countless times. Devin even had the chance to ride in the front and drive the train. It even had a bell he could ring. Dad was even a good sport and rode in the caboose with Devin.

Taking in the lights. Greg surprised us with a carriage ride around the hotel to see all the Christmas lights. It was such a nice evening - a little cool, but not cold.

First thing Saturday morning was breakfast with Shrek and the Gang. Shrek, Princess Fiona, and Puss N Boots all stopped by to visit us. The food was amazing and we even had Swamp Juice. No breakfast would be complete without Shrek ears.
