It was a gorgeous day so we decided to head to the river front in Evansville to watch the airshow. We packed a blanket, water, sunscreen, & some snacks for the afternoon.
The airshow ran from 12:30-4:30. Thankfully it wasn't to hot.
Up first were the Canadian Snow Birds. It is a group of 9 airplanes that fly in different formation. Here are just a few.
Devin & I left to get all of us some food. After stopping at a few food booths at the festival, we ended up walking to Subway on the walkway to get some lunch. I don't think they were prepared for the crowds that the airshow would bring, especially the Blue Angels.
Tate taking it all in.
Devin really enjoyed watching all the planes. They are so impressive!
The kids loved when this plane would fly straight up and stall out, then quickly turn around and pull up just before the river.
It reminded them of scenes from the movie Planes and Planes: Fire Rescue.
Trying to keep an eye on the planes way up in the sky.
The fighter jet was fast and loud. The sound is so impressive. Devin told me it made his heart feel funny. You could feel the vibrations from the jet engines.
I love that you can see the glow of the jet engine. Definitely a cool shot.
One happy kid!
It took such skill for the fighter plane to trail slowly behind.
Brothers! Glad that they weren't pestering each other. Sometimes I feel like we actually might be doing something right, but just sometimes....
Here come the Blue Angels. The boys were excited that they were finally coming. The wait got a little long.
We finally spotted them coming over the trees! Such an awesome sight!!
Flying in their diamond formation. They are flying so close to each other - Unvelieveable.
Great view from underneath. You can see their paint job - US Navy!
Yup, flying upside down!
Another very tight formation. The skill and precision is absolutely amazing.
We all had such a blast! So glad we went and the boys could experience it.
