Movin' on Up

It always amazes me the changes we see    from the beginning of school until the end. My little baby faced first grader is now turning into a young man and future 2nd grader. Devin is already looking forward to 2nd grade.

Tate also got his picture taken. He has changed quite a bit over the year too. Tate can't wait to go to school. He is so excited for pre-school.

He's grown so much!  I tease the boys that I'm going to put bricks on their heads to keep them from growing. Hiccups aren't allowed in our house either. Trying to keep my sweet little boys- as little and sweet as long as possible.

When did they get so big??

1st Grade Class Gift - I Love my Mom!

Devin's class made a video for Mother's Day.  Each student gave 1 reason why they love their Mom.  There were some pretty cute responses and a lot of misty eyes when it was all over.

First Grade Mother's Day Tea

All of the first grade Mothers were invited to attend a special Mother's Day celebration held by the entire class. We started our morning at Mass and a special celebration for Mother Mary.

After mass, we headed back to the classroom. Mrs Nixon read us a wonderful story about mothers.

There wasn't a dry eye in the classroom. It's about a mothers love for his son and in return the sons love for his mother. It was a very appropriate story for the occasion.

We enjoyed a few wonderfully made treats. Then the class gave their mom's 2 special gifts. The first was a video made by he class and the second was the sweetest card and picture.

St James Field Trip - Dairy & Lyle Station

Carson, Robert and Devin

Ever wonder how much 40 Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd graders weigh?  Well they collectively weigh ~2500 pounds.

What a moovalous cow!  Isn't she pretty.
One of the 1200 cows that get milked 3 times per day at the dairy.

Briley, Baily, Devin & Carson petting the 2 day old baby calf.

Learning how to make candles at Lyle station.

Learning how laundry used to be washed. Pretty tough work compared to how we clean out laundry today.

Milking ole Bessie!

Grinding corn for the chickens.

Getting a taste of what school was like over 100 years ago. Practicing their work on chalkboards, watch out the school mark might get her switch after you!!
