Making Memories and Christmas Cookies

This is one of our favorite Christmas memories each year.  Making Christmas cookies with Grandma Wolsing.  I always looked forward to this when I was a child.  I hope that we can continue to pass this tradition on for years to come.

The boys favorite - sugar cookies.

Who doesn't love decorating sugar cookies.

The boys decorating skills have really come a long way over the past several years.

I love this picture! Passing down family traditions.  Makes my heart smile.

Tate has become and amazing cookie decorator.  He really thought out each cookie and made sure to decorate them appropriately.  He took his time and made awesome cookies.

Mixing up the next batch.  The boys fight over who gets to run the mixer.

Gingerbread Man

This is how Thomas helps out on cookie making weekend. He made himself into an Elf Size Gingerbread-man. I don't think Elves would make very tasty cookies!

Cookies & Aprons

Well look who showed up in the kitchen!  Thomas has been busy making his very own batch of cookies.  He even came back from the North Pole with his very own apron.

Making some tasty gingerbread men.

Thomas even had aprons especially made for each boy.  They even match his apron.  Here is Tate's personalized apron.

Devin got his very own apron as well.

Trying on their new aprons for the first time.  They will come in handy this weekend when we start making all of our Christmas cookies.  Looking good boys!

Too many Elves in the Kitchen

Looks like Thomas is at it again.  He must have over heard the kids and I discussing that Grandma Wolsing would be coming to our house to make Christmas Cookies.

He was prepared with the mixer, a bowl, and his very own apron. Last year St. Nick brought us all aprons to use on our cookie making weekend and I guess Thomas didn't want to be left out. I wonder if Thomas is going to surprise us with some of Mrs Claus' favorite recipes.

This is where we found Thomas the day after our Christmas goodie making day. Seems he hadn't had enough and wNted to play around with one if his favorite things-sprinkles. He even left us a litte note. It was a reminder that Christmas is only 10 days away.

It is a great reminder to help us get ready for that special day and prepare our hearts for Jesus' birth. We all get busy with the hustle and bustle of the season so Thomas' reminder was taken to heart.

Not only do we need to prepare for Jesus, it's a great time to slow down and enjoy the special times we share with family and friends. This season tends to blow right bye us and Thomas was our little reminder to take a deep breath, slow down, and enjoy. Everything doesn't have to be perfect when we are surrounded by our loved ones.

Here's to enjoying every minute of this holiday season with family & friends.
