Finishing Fall Harvest

Dad and Tate walking across the field.  I love seeing Greg and the boys on the farm together.  It will be special memories for them.  I'm even happier that I caught it on camera.

Tate was the first to ride with Papaw Barry in the combine.  Devin and Dad had taken a semi load off to the grain elevator.  Tate loves riding with Papaw in the combine.

The boys busy harvesting the last of the soybeans.

This is the switch getting ready to happen.  While the combine is stopped to unload, its a great time to switch riders.

This face says it all!  Two thumbs up from Tate.  He loves spending time at the farm.

Dad and Tate headed to the grain elevator with a semi full of soybeans.

Devin is getting his farming lesson from Papaw.

Sun setting on another fall evening and fall harvest.

The very last load of soybeans being harvested.  It has been a long Fall.  Dad and Papaw have both worked very hard.  We are glad to see the fall harvest come to an end.

The evening started with an amazing super moon on the rise.  It was huge and the color was so brilliant.

Tate wanted to make sure he got his picture taken with the moon.

Memorial Day Fun - Farm, Food, Fitness

First up on our Memorial Day was farming.  Dad and Papaw were in a hurry to all the farming finished up.  They were finally able to get int the river bottoms and finish planting and spraying.  There was a lot of work to get done before Papaw's upcoming surgery.

Devin standing between the corn.  I love how you can see the corn rows wind around.

Everybody took turns riding with Papaw while he was spraying the corn.

Devin had finished riding with Papaw and we were waiting on Greg to come by with the planter.  It was time to refill the planter with soy beans.

Devin helped Dad load the planter.

Now it's Devin's turn to ride with Dad.

Off they go!

After we got home from the farm, we decided that it was a must to go get some ice cream.  We decided to turn the trip into a bike ride around town as well!  We love Logan's soft serve up town.  It's  a great little treat.  Devin got a vanilla sugar cone.

Tate wanted a vanilla cone with sprinkles, because sprinkles make everything better!

Group shot after our bike ride.  This was Tate's first official bike ride with out training wheels.  He did amazing and we ended up riding about 3 miles.  He still makes me nervous out on the road with cars.  He had the pedaling, starting, and stopping down, but he stills struggles with driving his bike in a straight line.  Tate managed to take up most of the road while we were biking.

We had a safe trip, enjoyed the ice cream, and had a blast all while doing it!

Happy Memorial Day!

Fall Harvest Complete - Check

It was a beautiful Fall day for harvesting.  Papaw Barry was busy in the combine, working hard to hopefully finish the Fall Harvest.

The only fields left to combine were the few down in the river bottoms.  Luckily it has been a very dry fall, which made it easier to get all the harvesting done.

The boys absolutely love spending time on the farm.  There isn't much they don't like about it.  It loud, there are big trucks and a combine, and lots of dirt.  Who doesn't love pulling the air horn on a semi-truck.  The kid inside me, even gets a kick out of it.  Nothing better than scaring an unsuspecting person with a loud burst from the semi's horn.  I got the kids a few times today and they got me a time or two.

Up first to ride to town with Dad, Tate.  They get a kick out of hauling grain to Cargil.  I'm not sure if it has to do with the actual ride or the candy once you get there.  Either way they love it!  They get to make special memories just them and their Dad!  I get a kick out of that.

Devin, literally hanging out in the corn.

I don't think these boys got their Dad's fear of heights.  I couldn't even begin to count the number of times they climbed up and down those ladders.  They like to watch the combine un-load from those spots.  They just laugh when a few pieces of corn hits them on their heads.  (I found a few of those pieces still stuck in their hair this evening, right before shower time)

Tate hanging out in the corn.  I know....insert corny joke here!!!  :)

Hot, sweaty and dirty - just the way the boys like it.

Finally their turn to ride in the combine with Papaw.  The smile says it all!

Beautiful Harvest.
Always glad to be nearing the end of the fall harvest season.

Tate and a semi-load full of corn.

Here comes Devin & Papaw in the combine.  They absolutely love the time they get to spend with Papaw in the combine.

Tate's turn.  Running up that ladder.

All smiles.

I know....corny selfie!!
It's just what Mom has to do to be in any of the pictures.

Fall Farming Fun Day

Well they were finally in the home stretch of the Fall Harvest and the boys couldn't wait to help Papaw & Daddy farm.  They each took their turns riding in the combine with Papaw or in the semi with Dad.  I'm not sure which is more fun, but they both love to honk the horn in the semi!

Practicing his turn in the semi.  What he doesn't know is that he might be in the very seat in a few short years.

Tate taking it all in with Papaw.  He looks so intent.

That's one proud future farmer!  He loves every minute of being out on the farm with Papaw & Dad.

Devin's up next!

Such a sweet face!

My sweet little farmers.

Father's Day at the Farm

They don't get much more handsome than this.  Tate is one proud Gator driver.

This is what happens when nature calls.  Of course, he is peeing directly towards the highway. I can promise you he didn't learn that from me.

I love this little smile and his sparkling eyes.  This picture captures Tate so perfectly.

Crazy Cousins - Quinn was hauling quite the load.  Watch out though he was a crazy driver!

Shooting some hoops in the Barn!  Love this action shot of Devin.  All the cousins took turns.  Fun afternoon at Mamaw & Papaw's House.

Well this is what the day was all about....Dad.
These boys are lucky to have this great guy as a role model.  He gives so much to them and our entire family.  We all appreciate his hard work and dedication.

Love You!
