Let our California Adventure Begin!

We were up bright and early to make it to the St. Louis airport with plenty of time.  We parked the car and rode a shuttle bus to our terminal.  We quickly got our bags checked and headed through security.  We then ate some breakfast in the terminal and then it was time for our to board our flight.  

Tate picked the window seat for the trip out, along with his good friend George.

Devin picked the middle and hung out with his friend Jake.  I had packed various activities to keep us busy.  They colored, played a few games of Spot It, played with some vinyl clings, and watched a movie.  We stayed very busy on our 4 hour flight to California.  Once we landed at LAX, we grabbed our bags and waited for our bus to take us to Disneyland.

This "Goofy" guy was greeting us when we walked into our hotel - Paradise Pier Hotel.  

Everything at the hotel was very "beachy".  Devin and Tate loved the beach ball pillows.  They definitely got thrown around the room on multiple occasions.

It's all about the Journey

So we have been planning a surprise vacation for several months now.  Greg told the kids several weeks ago that we would be going on a vacation.  We never really gave them any details, but generically said we would be going to the "beach".  This video is when we share the first surprise, that we would be flying to the "beach".

Devin was so excited to just be flying.  He still thinks we are going to the "beach".  If he gets this excited about flying, what does the next surprise have in store for him.

Tate was excited.  He couldn't wait to ride on the rocket.

Greg and I couldn't believe that we made it all the way to the Disney World sign before Devin knew where we were.  The airport and drive to the park is filled with all things Disney, they were oblivious.

The countdown is complete and we are FINALLY on our way to Mickeys house.




1 car ride, 2 bus rides, 1 airplane ride, and 1 train ride and the trip is complete.


Staying entertained during the flight. Luckily everyone (that includes Greg) were all very well behaved.


Now off to enjoy this magical family vacation.

Airplane - Weeee Fasst!!

So our morning began bright and early this morning in Louisville. Greg found us a hotel within minutes of the airport. That made things very convenient, however, we got an earlier than expected wake up call. About 4 Am this morning we awoke to the entire fleet of UPS planes taking off from the Louisville airport - one literally right after the other. So needless to say we made it to the airport in plenty of time. Devin excited about seeing our airplane outside. Was fascinated by watching all the hussel and bussel on the tarmac.
Posing with Dad, while patiently waiting to board the plane. Devin has been making friends all day long. As soon as we boarded the plane, he had the chance to check out the cockpit. Pretty sure he pressed some buttons, but it didn't seem to affect our flight! He even gave knuckles to the co-pilot!

Cheesing right before take off. As soon as we started to take off Devin hollered "WEEEEE" and " Fast Momma, Fast" of course loud enough for everyone on the entire plane to hear. Luckily it was pretty cute and go several laughs from nearby passengers.

We had a great and safe flight! Now looking forward to hitting the parks!
