And We're Off

Our road tripping adventure to Northern Michigan begins now.

The kids where patiently waiting for me to get home from work. We had already packed the night before, but now it was time to load the car and hit the road. We performed some last minute double checks-had everyone been to the bathroom, do we all have underwear, do we have the camera, is the house locked.   You know the usual things. Everything seemed to check out in our weird pre-flight checklist. We pulled out of the driveway and vacation was officially on!

We had packed ample activities to keep everyone busy...including the adults. It was activity overload at first, but they quickly settled down.

Remember that checklist...yup everyone went to the bathroom. Well that was accurate, however we barely make it to Terre Haute and we here the dreaded "I have to pee, being shouted from the back seat. The culprit-Devin. He also has impeccable timing announcing his right, just moments after passing a convenient gas station. We continue on for the next suitable place to borrow their facilities.

To provide a little distraction/entertainment we started playing the alphabet game.  I'm sure there are many variations on the same game, but we look for words starting with each letter of the alphabet and you have to shout it out. Good was to pass time. Anyway we made it to the next bathroom , made a quick pit stop and we were on our way again.  Luckily that was the last stop we made until we called it quits for the evening.  That's a really good thing too, because Truck Driver Greg doesn't like to stop.

Tate stayed busy practicing writing his letters. Devin colored, read some books, and played with a vinyl sticker set.

We called it quits north of Fort Wayne. We all tried to get some rest and were up by 6AM to continue our adventure.
