After dinner, we headed to Windermere Point. The kids wanted to see the kites that they had flying as well as checking out the lake.
The kites were beautiful. There is almost always a consistent breeze that comes off the straight of Mackinac. The breeze moves from Lake Michigan towards Lake Huron.
Devin & Tate couldn't wait to "get in" the water. What they didn't know is how cold Lake Huron would be! Us mid-westerner's aren't use to water temperatures like this.

If you look closely you can see Mackinac Bridge in the background.
We all decided to put our toes in....brr was it cold!
Great picture of Tate. As you can see, it was fairly cool out and we all needed our jackets. Not the usual way we spend our 4th of July weekend.

You can see Round Island Lighthouse in the background. That is one of the Star Line boats. You can see how much water they really spray from this angle.
We walked back to our hotel. We decided that we might like some dessert. Devin & Tate went for make your own frozen yogurt. Greg stopped at one of the many fudge shops for his dessert. We were even treated to milk and cookies by the hotel staff each evening. It was a nice treat at the end of each day!
The view from our room!
Tate and his ice cream.
That's quite the smile Devin decided to flash. They were both enjoying their treats!
